1.  What services do you offer?

Whatever we can. Caretakers offers a range of services including errands, cooking, transportation, housekeeping, home maintenance, companion care, and more. Whatever it takes to keep you or a loved one at home, we do for you. We can even coordinate in-home medical care, if it becomes necessary. Your comfort and independence are important to us. It’s personal. And it is why we started this business so many years ago.

2. How long have you been in business?

Over 23 years. Caretakers is a local, independent company established in early 1988 as a caring option to keep struggling seniors in the comfort of their homes. The company was so ahead of its time that the Yellow Pages had to come up with a new category title just for Caretakers.

3. Do I have to commit to more than what I need?

Not on our watch. Caretakers custom designs each program to each individual. In a way, we are like an a la cart menu at a restaurant – you only order what you want. We don’t believe in “you-must-do-it-our-way” packages. Caring specifically for you, individually, is what we do best.

4. Is a minimum contract required?

Absolutely not. Unlike the countless franchises which have popped up in recent years, Caretakers doesn’t require a minimum contract and offers you every option from one-hour to 24-hour live-in care. You decide what you need.

5. What are your fees?

It’s your choice. Because Caretakers offers you an almost limitless amount of options, fees vary according to your needs. We do not tack on extra charges for couples. You are also welcome to talk to us personally. Just call (317)- 575-0001.

6. How are caregivers selected?

Very carefully.  Our goal is always to attract as many qualified workers who have a history and primary interest in helping the elderly. All applicants are thoroughly scrutinized including State Police background check, driver’s license and driving record background check, current Tuberculosis screening, recent physical, verification of current Indiana State certifications for all in-home caregivers, and complete follow-through confirmation on both past employer and personal references.

7. How do you match your caregivers to persons in need?

With meticulous planning. Caretakers speaks at length with you about your specific needs. Our care manager and staff also observe your environment and talk with your family. After a thorough evaluation and our 23+ years of matching success, a caregiver is assigned. This can be on a trial basis. You always have the opportunity to replace your caregiver. We will do whatever it takes to please you, to make you totally comfortable both physically and emotionally.

8. Is your company licensed, bonded and insured?

Most certainly. We are an Indiana Licensed Personal Service Agency, our employees are fully bonded, and Caretakers is fully insured. Additionally we are a member of the Indiana Association of Home & Hospice Care, and the Better Business Bureau.

9. What sets your business apart?

Our passion. Caretakers started this business over 23 years ago to make a positive difference by keeping elderly people in their beloved homes. It is personal to us. We are not a franchise, but rather an independent, local company whose vision for care has been longstanding. Each and every one of our caregivers goes through a rigorous training process. Our “In Touch” program keeps families up to date on daily activities, our client’s doctor is always kept in the loop for up-dating charts, and trust advisors are alerted immediately regarding any questionable transactions. We make life easier for both our clients and their families and/or guardians. Families, attorneys, doctors and discharge facilities have put their trust in Caretakers for over two decades.
